Unifi, Inc., established in 1969 and headquartered in Greensboro, North Carolina, is a global producer and distributor of synthetic and recycled materials, with operations spanning the United States, Brazil, China, and other international regions. The company's business is structured into four main divisions: Polyester, Nylon, Brazil, and Asia. The Polyester segment offers an extensive selection of yarns, including partially oriented, textured, solution and package dyed, twisted, beamed, and draw wound types. This division also converts pre-consumer and post-consumer waste, such as plastic bottle flakes, into polyester polymer and staple fiber beads. These products are supplied to other yarn manufacturers, knitters, and weavers for the creation of fabrics used in apparel, hosiery, home furnishings, automotive, industrial, and various other end markets. The Nylon segment focuses on delivering virgin and recycled yarns, including textured, solution-dyed, and spandex-covered varieties, primarily to knitters and weavers who craft textiles for the apparel, hosiery, and medical sectors. Both the Brazil and Asia segments are dedicated to manufacturing and selling polyester-based products. Their customers include knitters and weavers who produce fabrics for applications in apparel, home furnishings, automotive, industrial, and other diverse markets. Unifi distributes its products, marketed under brands such as REPREVE and PROFIBER, through a combination of its own sales team and independent agents.
