Its operational infrastructure comprises 46 bakeries, of which 44 are owned directly and two are leased. Flowers Foods caters to a broad spectrum of clients, such as large-scale merchandisers, supermarkets and other retail outlets, convenience stores, both national and regional restaurants, quick-service food chains, in-store bakeries, foodservice distributors, food wholesalers, institutional buyers, dollar stores, and vending machine operators. Initially known as Flowers Industries, the organization officially adopted the name Flowers Foods, Inc. in 2001. Established in 1919, the company's main corporate offices are situated in Thomasville, Georgia.
