Beyond its core electricity operations, CEMIG's diverse ventures encompass the procurement, transportation, and supply of natural gas, along with its by-products and derivatives. It also provides a range of IT services, such as cloud solutions, infrastructure management, and cybersecurity, as well as supplying technology systems for the operational oversight of public service concessions. Additional activities include energy trading, telecommunications services, distributed power generation, customer account handling, cogeneration, initiatives for energy efficiency, and the management of supply and storage. The company was established in 1952 and is headquartered in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
