Offerings include essential medical supplies like syringes, infusion and syringe pumps, infusion lines, I.V. solutions, peritoneal dialysis fluids, and products for pain management and nutritional support, as well as adhesion barriers. This segment also produces consumer health monitoring devices such as blood glucose monitoring systems, disposable needles for pen-injectors, insulin patch pumps, blood pressure monitors, and digital thermometers. Moreover, it provides contract manufacturing services for pharmaceutical companies, specializing in prefilled syringes and devices like prefillable syringes and needles for pharmaceutical packaging. Finally, the Blood and Cell Technologies Company concentrates on products and systems for blood and cell management. Its offerings span blood bags, component collection systems, automated blood processing systems, pathogen reduction systems, centrifugal apheresis systems, and advanced cell expansion systems. Established in 1921, the company was initially known as Sekisen Ken-onki Corporation before adopting its current name, Terumo Corporation, in October 1974.
