Analyst Q&A
Analyst Matthew O'Connor asked: Good morning. You guys are obviously focused on growing the commercial side of the loan book, and the results are looking really good. Just remind us on the consumer side, you've been running down there and where do those balances kind of level out, and are there any areas that you're kind of leaning into or would like to be better at over time on the consumer lending side? Management Chris Gorman answered: We would've said two quarters ago that the quarterly runoff would've been about $600 million. Given where rates have gone, the current runoff is about $400 million. What we're doing is we're basically redeploying out of mortgages that are very safe mortgages because they're made to they're jumbo mortgages, they're first mortgages to doctors and dentists. But we're redeploying that in our C&I portfolio, where we have a really good track record of having a complete relationship and driving a bunch of revenue.
