Analyst Q&A
Analyst Craig Moffett asked: Just in the past, I guess two weeks or so, we've seen AT&T raise prices pretty considerably. We've seen just about everybody now start to raise prices in broadband. I know it's very early days, but have those price changes that have happened in the market had any impact yet on the kind of results that you're seeing as the competition, I guess, to use your words, maybe becomes a little less irrational? Management Jason Armstrong answered: It's been more competitive in the second half than it has been in the first half for sure. As we step back, the irrational comment was we know what the cost of building fiber is. We obviously do a lot of overbuilding and deploy a lot of this ourselves. It's $1,500+ per home, getting more expensive with construction costs up as you get into more suburban and rural areas that the underlying cost structure deploying fiber going up against what we saw as $30-$40 pricing in specific markets in the third quarter.
